About Dialog

This is an awesome opportunity to join a leading-edge marketing firm applying advanced network science principles to solve complex business challenges. Dialog is the best of both strategy and execution, bringing together brilliant minds in deep research and trusted go-to-market strategy with award-winning in-house creative talent. We service Fortune 500 clients with expertise across technology, healthcare, government, education, retail, and more. We are based in the heart of downtown Austin, just a block and a half away from the Capitol grounds.

Our Talent Needs

We are looking for a full-time marketing data analyst/data scientist to join our Conversation Science department who has experience working with large data sets of all types and is adept at using various analytics methods and statistical models to scale learnings. However, the candidate must also have the skills and willingness to apply brain power in the instances where technology fails. We are pushing the envelope in developing and applying techniques to intimately understand what our clients’ markets are saying to create effective marketing strategies that drive carefully targeted tactical initiatives. Most important, as an output of this role, we are looking for insight over fact.

Role Overview: Marketing Data Analyst

  • You’ll work with the Digital Marketing Practice Lead to deliver data insights that help our clients make better business decisions.
  • You’ll be working with structured and unstructured data platforms to understand customer attributes and the conversations they are having.
  • You’ll conduct deep-dive analyses and investigations to understand customer experience, including touch points, cross-channel behaviors, drivers, preferences, and segmentation.
  • You’ll read between the lines to identify opportunities by way of what is not visibly seen in the data.
  • You’ll effectively communicate data findings to internal project team members and work collaboratively with the team to fill any research gaps and revise market insights.
  • You’ll work to continually improve existing research approaches by bringing new tools and methods to the table for application and testing.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2-3 years of working experience in social analytics, product analytics, campaign tracking, business, or analytics consulting
  • An MS (preferred) or BS degree in management, marketing, supply chain management, advertising, management information systems (MIS), or other business-related degree, with a focus in analytics-/statistics-related study
  • An understanding of statistical analyses and common data mining techniques
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets
  • Preference for candidates with existing knowledge and experience working with web analytics platforms (Omniture, Google Analytics, etc.), social listening platforms (Brandwatch, Sprout Social, Social Studio, Crimson Hexagon, etc.), data visualization software (Tableau, Domo, Qlik, etc.), and language processing platforms (Quid, IBM tools, LIWC, etc.)

Salary and Benefits

Salary commensurate with experience, plus a benefits package that includes medical, disability, HSA, 401(k), with a generous vacation and sick time allotment. Downtown parking is also provided.
